We contributed to the iPhone 7 rumor mill back in May with our thoughts on the upcoming device launch. Here’s a quick update.
VentureBeat’s Evan Blass provided the below likely-reliable information about how the iPhone launch will play out next month:
September 6th (last year it was a Wednesday, too): Apple announces the new iPhone, amidst other products
September 9th: Pre-orders begin
September 15th: iOS 10 officially launches out of beta
September 16th: The new iPhone hits stores and hysteria ensues

Many insiders suggest that the most impressive updates will come with next year’s 10th year anniversary edition of the iPhone. This year’s launch is expected to be a fairly modest refresh, still with an improved battery, better camera for low-light shooting and lack of a headphone jack.
There are still plenty of other speculations. For example, will they actually call this one the iPhone 7, or will they save that for the more radically redesigned device expected next year? To appease audio fans, will this model come with new Lightning tipped earbuds or just a Lightning to 3.5mm adapter?
One thing is for certain, we’re sure to see dozens of other rumors circulate between now and the release. We’ll be here to update you on any repair related questions right after the launch. As we know, release dates tend to cause excitement, leading to this.
